10 Countries with the Largest Internet Users in the World - The Internet may already be familiar to those of us who live in this information age. We often use this Internet network to be able to communicate, read news, watch movies, find various information, buy or sell merchandise and there are many other activities that can be done through this Internet. The Internet, which was initially a technology specifically used for military purposes in the United States Department of Defense, has now developed into a technology that can be used by the general public, including you and me.
Basically the term Internet is derived from the word " Interconnection Network " which means an interconnected network. If quoted from the Big Indonesian Dictionary, the definition of the Internet is an Electronic Communication Network that connects computer networks and computer facilities organized around the world via telephone or satellite.
The Internet has a very high economic value, so that every country in the world is competing to provide Internet infrastructure that is easily accessible at high speed so that the penetration of Internet usage in the country concerned is also high. This will be an added value for economic growth in the country. Based on published data from emarketers . comOverall, Internet users in the world reached 3.24 billion people in 2016. From the list quoted from the emarketer, the country with the largest internet users in the world in 2016 was China with a total of 700.1 million Internet users. While in second place is India with 283.8 million users. The third position as the Country with the Largest Internet Users in the World is the United States with a total of 264.9 million Internet users.
Our country, the Republic of Indonesia, is in 6th place with 102.8 million Internet users. Indonesia is predicted to become the Top 5 replacing Japan's position in 2017 with the number of users reaching 112.6 million people.
