Country Profile Tajikistan – Tajikistan is a landlocked country located in the continent of Central Asia. The country which is astronomically located between 36°-41° N and 67°-75° E is bordered by China (China) in the east, Uzbekistan in the west, Afghanistan in the south and bordering Kyrgyzstan in the north. About 50% of the territory of Tajikistan is land with an altitude above 3000 meters above sea level. The capital city of Tajikistan is Dushanbe city.
The Russian Empire began to rule over Central Asia (including areas populated by ethnic Tajiks) in the late 19th century. However, the influence of the Russian empire over Central Asia weakened after the 1917 revolution. At that time, indigenous guerrilla groups or also known as the Basmachi movement fiercely fought over territory from Bolshevik control (a splinter faction of the Russian Social Democratic Party). The territory of Tajikistan was first formed by Uzbekistan in 1924. However, in 1929, the Soviet Union designated Tajikistan as a republic separate from Uzbekistan as the Tajikistan Soviet Socialist Republic. Tajikistan gained its full sovereignty on September 9, 1991 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
The total area of Tajikistan is 144,100 km2 with a population of 8,604,882. The majority of the population is ethnic Tajik as much as 84.3% and ethnic Uzbeks as much as 13.8% of the total population of Tajikistan. About 98% of Tajikistan's population is Muslim. The official language of Tajikistan is Tajik.
In the political field, Tajikistan adheres to a presidential republic government system in which the head of state is a president who is directly elected by majority vote for a term of 7 years and can serve up to two terms. However, specifically for the current President, namely President Emomali RAHMON, who is referred to as the "Leader of the Nation" can be re-elected for an indefinite period. The last Presidential election was in 2013 which will be held again in 2020. The President of Tajikistan also serves as Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan. Tajikistan also has the post of Prime Minister who serves as Head of Government. However, the Prime Minister of Tajikistan is elected and appointed directly by the President.
In terms of economy, Tajikistan is one of the poorest mountainous countries with an economy dominated by mineral extraction, metal processing, agriculture and reliance on remittances from citizens working abroad. Tajikistan's mineral resources include silver, gold, uranium, antimony, tungsten and coal. However, the damage to infrastructure caused by the civil war in 1992-1997 led to a sharp decline in industrial and agricultural production.
Cotton is the main agricultural commodity. However, only about 7% of the land can be planted with this cotton. This state of the Soviet Union imports about 70% of its food from abroad. Tajikistan's Gross Domestic Product or GDP is US$28.43 billion with a Per Capita Income of US$3,200,-. Tajikistan's Economic Growth in 2017 was 7.1%.
In the foreign field, Tajikistan became a member of the United Nations on March 2, 1992. Tajikistan is also a member country of international institutions under the United Nations such as FAO, IAEA, ICAO, IFAD, ILO, IMF, ITU, UNCTAD, UNESCO, UNIDO, UNWTO, UPU, WHO, WIPO, WMO and WTO. Apart from that, Tajikistan is also a member state of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

read moreAs time went by, this blog was developed for many different purposes. Last time, I had a lot of pleasure in sharing some of my Lego-related hobbies. However, I will mostly upload a blog about bikes and their development in the next few months! Recently, I have so much into ebike cargo. They say this type of bike can replace the car! And I am very into it since my place is crowded with traffic jams! The video above showed a funny situation: I started the review from Brooks's handle! And after nine years! It's still an excellent bike handle and not even destroyed!

Hi, hi, hi. So, it's been a while for the last couple of weeks since I have considered buying a cargo bike. The reason is that I am often trapped in a traffic jam because I can't get faster in my car.

Custom LEGO Transformers Devastator
My faith in humanity is restored! OK, that’s a bit overboard – but you couldn’t blame me if you see an incredibly, exquisitely and wonderfully executed custom LEGO Transformers Devastator such as this by Alex Jones. I feel transported to the 80’s once again, with the same intense childhood wonder when I first saw the Constructicons combine and become the formidable Devastator.
